Web Template

This 17-page web template will help you to easily create a web. When you are making a new web (File / New / Web), just be sure to select the "Blue Nebula Flash" web template. You may want to preview the web in a browser before you start working (File / Preview in Browser). Then, begin customizing the web structure to fit your needs by adding and deleting pages!

To add pages, see below.

To delete pages, right-click on the page in the Folder List and select Delete (or go to Edit / Delete). You may wish to do this with some of the pages in this template that you don't need.

Adding Pages

This theme does not come with a Flash-enhanced page template, because FrontPage messes up some of the code. If you want to add more Flash-enhanced pages, simply go to Folder List and copy and paste existing pages, then rename them.

This theme has a static page template called Blue Nebula. To use a page template, go to the menu bar and select File / New / Page (do not use the "New Page" icon on the taskbar -- this will give you a blank page without a page template applied). Then select this page template you want to use!

Be sure to go to Navigational View to drag the new page into the navigation structure. Then you may edit the left navigation bar properties (if you want to link to pages on the same level, or to the parent level, or to the child level) and add your content.

Shared Borders

This web template uses the bottom shared border for copyright information and the top shared border for global navigation buttons. You may choose to add other information, such as a contact email address or bottom navigation bar. Editing the shared border in one page will update all of the pages.

Warning: Do not change the tables!

This page has been carefully laid out in tables so that it will look good and resize in Internet Explorer and Netscape. Do not drag on the table lines or you may "freeze" your page so that it does not resize correctly.

Editing the Embedded Flash Text

You may edit the text for the two taglines, and you may also change the position of the taglines! There are six variables: tagline1 and tagline2 will change the text, and tagline1x, tagline1y, tagline2x, and tagline2y control where the text will be displayed.

The movie is 700 pixels wide and 93 pixels high. x=0 and y=0 is in the upper left-hand corner. Experiment by changing the x and y values to see where you want your text to be placed.

bulletIn Page View, click on the Flash Movie object to select it.
bulletGo to HTML view. The HTML code for the Flash Movie object should be highlighted.
bulletYou will need to change the code in two areas:
bullet<PARAM NAME=movie VALUE="top.swf?tagline1x=50&tagline1y=15 &tagline2x=100&tagline2y=30&tagline1=Your tagline here&tagline2=Another tagline here">
bullet<EMBED src="top.swf?tagline1x=50&tagline1y=15 &tagline2x=100&tagline2y=30&tagline1=Your tagline here&tagline2=Another tagline here" . . .>
bulletBe sure not to change anything else. The text area is limited, so test it out and see what works.

Splash Page

This theme has a Flash movie in the Splash page with three taglines which you may customize similar to how you customize the page Flash movies.

bulletIn Page View of the Splash Page, click on the Flash Movie object to select it.
bulletGo to HTML view. The HTML code for the Flash Movie object should be highlighted.
bulletYou will need to change the text in two areas (we suggest that Tagline 3 should be your company name):
bullet<PARAM NAME=movie VALUE="intro.swf?tagline1=This is tagline 1.&tagline2=This is tagline 2.&tagline3=This is tagline 3.">
bullet<EMBED src="intro.swf?tagline1=This is tagline 1.&tagline2=This is tagline 2.&tagline3=This is tagline 3." . . .>
bulletBe sure not to change anything else. The text area is limited, so test it out and see what works.

If you want a static splash page, you may use the included splashbg.jpg image in the images folder.
